If you suspect your child is missing, ACT QUICKLY!  Remember there is NO WAITING PERIOD to report a child missing to law enforcement!

  • Stay calm and allow others to help, YOU ARE NOT ALONE!
  • Dial 9-1-1: Give your name, your exact location, and tell the operator that want to report a missing child and need an officer to respond immediately!
  • Search but do not touch: Look carefully under beds, in closets, sheds, pools, and behind doors.  Try to touch as little as possible so as not to disturb possible evidence.
  • Be ready for law enforcement: List your child’s full legal name, date of birth, and any nicknames.
  • Be prepared to describe your child: Have a recent digital photo of your child to provide to law enforcement.  Provide your child’s current height, weight, build, hair color and length, eye color, any identifying marks, what the child was wearing and where they were last seen.
    • AANBV can provide Child ID Kits that you can fill out in advance and store in a safe, secure location to assist in this process.  Email us at [email protected] for information on how to obtain Child ID Kit(s).
  • Contact the Amber Alert Network Brazos Valley at 877-98-AANBV (877-982-2628) after law enforcement has arrived on scene.  We can assist in getting information out to the public as soon as possible on any missing child (or adult) incident after consulting with law enforcement.
